Since 2022, it has been mandatory for new buildings with a floor area of more than 300 m² to be equipped with photovoltaic systems in order to cover part of their own electricity requirements and contribute to the national energy supply. With the Electricity Supply Act 2024, Switzerland has set ambitious targets for the expansion of solar energy, supported by subsidies, in order to increase electricity generation from solar energy fivefold by 2035. These measures will significantly strengthen the solar market. In addition, the subsidy instruments will be expanded, including a sliding market premium, to further promote investment in renewable energies and offer attractive incentives.
Development of electricity prices
In view of the constantly changing electricity prices, many consumers are asking themselves whether it is worth investing in their own energy solution, such as a photovoltaic system.
The answer is clear: yes, it is worth it – for several reasons:
-
Reduced energy costs
By installing your own photovoltaic system, you can cover part of your electricity requirements yourself.
-
Long-term cost security & independence
While electricity prices in the public grid fluctuate, your own PV system offers constant energy costs.
-
Attractive subsidies
Government subsidy programmes and feed-in tariffs make investing in photovoltaic systems particularly attractive.
-
Environmental protection
Solar energy is clean, emission-free and practically inexhaustible, making it a key contributor to the fight against climate change.
Subsidy situation: We take care of everything from A-Z
With the Energy Strategy 2050, Switzerland wants to structure its national electricity market in a CO₂-neutral way. The federal government, and in some cases the cantons and municipalities, are therefore supporting the construction of solar power plants with substantial investment subsidies.
As a strong partner at your side, we constantly monitor the subsidy situation in Switzerland and take care of the entire subsidy process. In doing so, we ensure that we obtain the best subsidies for our customers at both national and regional level.
National & regional subsidies
At national level, solar power plants are subsidised both for self-consumption and for full feed-in. For a system with 300 kWp, this results in between approx. 80,000 and CHF 189,000 in subsidies (as of May 2024). Pronovo provides a tariff calculator that gives you an initial indication of the subsidy.
The city, municipality and cantons offer further funding opportunities, which are clarified by Ampere Dynamic, for example additional subsidies for PV, but also carports , charging stations, battery storage systems, roof renovations, ZEV subsidies or structural retrofitting measures. As a reliable partner, we take a holistic view of your project and take care of applying for all subsidies.
We are also happy to support you with financing.
