Logistics Electrification

Turnkey e-truck charging infrastructure for logistics fleets: PV carport, energy management and up to 40% funding — everything from a single source. Swiss Logistics Award 2024.

Your logistics fleet goes electric — the energy supply determines whether it pays off.

Key Takeaways

6 Min. Lesezeit

The Swiss Climate and Innovation Act (KlG) sets legally binding decarbonisation pathways for Swiss companies. For logistics operators, this means a 50% CO2 reduction by 2030 and 90% by 2050 — against the baseline year. At the same time, the operating costs of electric trucks are already 3–4 times lower than diesel today. Those who build charging infrastructure now secure funding, fixed energy costs and a measurable lead ahead of the regulatory curve.

As an owner-managed specialist, we deliver your e-truck charging infrastructure on a turnkey basis — from feasibility study through grid registration and PV carport to ongoing operations. Through targeted self-consumption optimisation, we integrate solar power directly into your charging park: up to 40% of the charging electricity comes from your own PV production.

Proof: Hugelshofer Services AG — Europe’s largest e-truck fast-charging park

In May 2024, Ampere Dynamic, together with Hugelshofer Group, commissioned Europe’s largest fast-charging park for electric trucks: 28 charging points with up to 400 kW charging capacity, combined with a 1,001 kWp solar installation and real-time energy management. A 40-tonne e-truck charges fully in 90 minutes — the fleet operates without interruption to service.

The project won the Swiss Logistics Award 2024 and serves as an industry-wide reference project for the electrification of Swiss logistics. All deadlines were met and the budget was maintained.

Status quo vs. integrated energy strategy

Many logistics operators install charging stations — and purchase grid electricity at CHF 0.20–0.30 per kWh for them. That works, but it forgoes the biggest lever: the roof surface above the charging park.

Charging infrastructure without integration

  • Grid electricity at CHF 0.20–0.30 per kWh for every charging event — no control over energy costs
  • Simultaneous charging drives peak loads upward — demand charges increase
  • PV installation and charging stations operate uncoordinated — solar power is fed into the grid rather than used on-site
  • Two separate systems, two suppliers, no shared control logic

With Ampere Dynamic

  • Up to 40% of charging electricity from own PV production — generation costs below CHF 0.12 per kWh
  • Intelligent load management prevents peak loads — no unnecessary grid expansion
  • PV, storage and charging infrastructure as an integrated system with a single control unit
  • Turnkey from a single source: one point of contact for grid connection, PV, charging and operations
100% grid power 40% solar power

How we deliver your charging park

Feasibility study & grid analysis

We assess your site for grid capacity, roof area and subsidy eligibility — within 2–4 weeks, at no cost.

  • Reliable overall concept with CHF figures
  • Investment decision based on facts

Grid registration & planning permission

We coordinate grid registration, transformer station and building permission entirely with the grid operator and authorities — typically 6–12 weeks.

  • Single point of contact, no interface risk

Construction: PV carport, charging points & energy management

Truckport structures with bifacial modules — up to 25% additional yield through ground reflection.

  • Integrated energy management synchronises solar yield, fleet demand and grid consumption in real time

Commissioning & ongoing operations

Handed over ready for operation and grid-configured. Monitoring and service long-term — not just until the handover protocol.

Partnerships for sustainable logistics

Ampere Dynamic is a Solution Partner in the GS1 network and supports the Lean and Green initiative for sustainability in logistics. We are also a member of the “Green Logistics” working group of swisscleantech — working actively with other companies along the value chain towards the decarbonisation of freight transport.

For your energy strategy beyond the charging park: we connect e-truck infrastructure with photovoltaics, battery storage and e-mobility into a coherent overall system. Request a quote
