One-off remuneration (EIV)
Also known as: Einmalvergütung, EIV, KLEIV, GREIV, HEIV, One-off payment
The Einmalvergütung (EIV) is Switzerland's central federal subsidy for photovoltaic systems, paid as a one-off investment contribution at commissioning by the executing agency Pronovo. It comprises KLEIV for systems below 100 kWp, GREIV for systems from 100 kWp up to 50 MWp, and HEIV for full feed-in systems from 2 to 150 kWp. Since 2025, additional bonuses apply, for example for steep system parts from 75 degrees of tilt and for new car park canopies.
For industrial and commercial systems from 100 kWp, the GREIV is the relevant category. Rates are calculated individually by system type, capacity and commissioning date; binding figures come from the Pronovo tariff calculator.
Since 1 January 2025, two bonuses increase the payment. The tilt angle bonus only applies to system parts tilted at 75 degrees or more: CHF 400/kW if they are integrated, or CHF 200/kW if they are attached or free-standing, never both for the same part. The parking area bonus of CHF 250/kW applies to systems from 100 kWp over a permanent, previously uncovered car park. Since 2026, winter-strong systems can receive the Winterstrombonus, which replaces the tilt angle bonus for integrated, attached and free-standing systems: a system gets one or the other, not both.
The legal basis is the revised Energy Act and the Energy Promotion Ordinance, in force since 1 January 2025 as part of the Electricity Act. The guide Applying for GREIV describes the process from registration to payout; the subsidy guide 2026 covers all programmes and deadlines.
