Kosmonte Foods
PV Truckport Kosovo — REPIC Pilot Project
Kosmonte Foods operates production and logistics sites in Kosovo, Albania, Germany, and the United Arab Emirates, and faces the challenge of supplying its growing fleet of electric commercial vehicles with clean energy. Ampere Dynamic is realising a PV Truckport with approximately 200 kWp of solar capacity together with local specialist Peak Valley L.L.C. — as a REPIC-funded pilot project for development cooperation. The project draws on the technology of the award-winning Truckport at Hugelshofer Services AG in Switzerland and transfers this approach to a South-East European market for the first time.
Technology transfer from Switzerland to Kosovo is central to this project. Kosovo’s Energy Strategy 2022–2031 sets ambitious targets for expanding renewable energy — this pilot project makes a measurable contribution: on-site solar self-consumption, reduced dependence on the grid, and an electric charging infrastructure that enables the decarbonisation of logistics operations. As the first project of its kind in Kosovo, it carries flagship significance for the regional industry.
This is a joint undertaking between Ampere Dynamic Schweiz GmbH as EPC specialist — bringing Swiss planning and execution expertise — and Peak Valley L.L.C. as the local implementation partner, a Kosovar-Swiss joint venture with 150 MW of renewables in development. The project is financed through the REPIC platform, the Swiss interdepartmental funding instrument of SECO, DEZA, BAFU, and BFE for renewable energy in developing and transitioning countries. Project start: March 2025. Planned commissioning: 2026.
