Kuny AG

Future-Oriented Energy Infrastructure with Photovoltaics, Battery Storage and SDL

Capacity
633 kWp

In December 2022, the complete installation of the 633 kWp photovoltaic system on the roofs of Kuny AG in Küttigen AG was successfully completed. Kuny AG is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of textile bands of all kinds. They now source the majority of the electricity required for this from their own production and environmentally friendly sources. In addition, this system saves 76 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.

Now in 2026 there is additionally a battery storage system: An outdoor battery storage system with 250 kW capacity and 522 kWh storage capacity is currently being installed for Kuny AG. The storage system is primarily designed for peak shaving and self-consumption optimisation, but can additionally provide system services (SDL) during periods of low utilisation of the house connection.

The project demonstrates high economic efficiency with a payback period of approximately 5 years. This enables the textile company to significantly reduce capacity costs, increase the self-consumption share of PV electricity and simultaneously significantly improve the autonomy of the site.
