Switzerland's First Alpitronic HYC1000 Charger
Gebrüder Weiss is electrifying its vehicle fleet and needed charging infrastructure at its Altenrhein site that serves four vehicles today and twice as many tomorrow. Ampere Dynamic delivered a fast-charging park built around the Alpitronic HYC1000 with a total output of up to 1’000 kW, together with Gebrüder Weiss. Two EV dispensers provide four DC charging points. Commissioning on 10 June 2026 took place jointly with Alpitronic and was the first HYC1000 commissioning in Switzerland.
The HYC1000 uses a decentralised architecture with a central power cabinet and physically separate dispensers. For now, 500 kW of DC charging capacity is available, expandable to 1’000 kW. The integrated dynamic load management distributes the available power between connected vehicles in steps of 62.5 kW. This keeps the installed power electronics working rather than reserved, and every vehicle receives as much power as it can absorb at that moment.
The design already accounted for two additional EV or MCS dispensers, and therefore eight charging points. Civil works, grid connection and controls are dimensioned for that expansion, so it will not require a second construction site. The charging infrastructure grows with the fleet from day one.
