ZEV
Also known as: Zusammenschluss zum Eigenverbrauch, Self-consumption community
A ZEV (Zusammenschluss zum Eigenverbrauch, self-consumption community) has allowed several parties in a building or estate to share solar electricity behind a single grid connection point since 2018. All participants share the connection, and billing is consolidated. The model is relevant above all for commercial parks, industrial estates and properties with several tenants.
The ZEV is economically attractive because internally billed solar electricity typically earns 15 to 22 Rp./kWh, considerably more than grid feed-in at 5 to 12 Rp./kWh. At the same time, participants pay less than the regular grid tariff. Both sides benefit.
Since 1 January 2025, the virtual ZEV offers a variant that works without a shared grid connection point. Since 2026, the LEG complements the model with electricity trading across the public grid.
